Classic Pumps was founded in 1991 by Walt and Barb Stagner. While its primary mission is to make a profit (so that we can stay in business), its secondary mission is to "rid the world of women's ugly shoes."

"Barb and I would go shopping and hope to find a nice-looking pair of pumps. If we were lucky enough to find something that we both liked, it was a miracle. The next challenge was to see whether or not they had the shoes we liked in her size. Frequently, they did not.

In 1991 we finally said enough is enough and thus was born Classic Pumps. We felt that there must be others in this world who liked the plain and simple, feminine pumps. Thus far, it seems we were right!"
