"I am 50ish, and relatively new to Classic Pumps. Thanks to my husband,
falling over your web site last year, I have become a fan. I broke
into high heels when Bandolino and Caressa pumps were available
as my training wheels. I graduated up to four-inch-heeled Allure
and Spanish Leather brands after that.
During this period they were more or less the
standard pumps for work and after hours, at least in my area.
Unfortunately these soon began drifting off, and the
so-called standard pump became almost extinct. On came
the new crocodile snouted straight-heeled varieties which
looked more like can openers than classic pumps.
There was a brief respite here in the Washington
area when an outfit named Frugal Fanny's offered three
and four-inch-heeled Spanish Leather pumps, but only for
a few years and they too disappeared soon to be followed
by Frugal and Fanny off into the sunset. They were nice
shoes very much like CP's Annas and Bellas. J. C. Penny
also offered the Bella-type pumps for a year or so.
Then......Nothing but a vast high-heeled wasteland,
until Classic Pumps came to the rescue.
As you can see from my photos I've been good to
Classic Pumps and they have been good to me. I think
there are eight different pairs of Lolas and Annas
in the display.
Also, you can see that I don't care much for pantyhose,
stockings etc. If you are young enough and have good legs,
you really don't need them with all of the leg care
products out there. I guess after a certain age (probably
about my age) you must give in and roll on the salami
skins. But, I'm going to hold out as long as I can.
Finally, one of the other ladies offered a tip
about breaking in a new pair of CPs. She is a stocking
person. But, if you are not, you can achieve similar
results by applying a touch of moisturizing cream to
the bottom of your toe tips and the balls of your feet.
Slip into you new CPs and they become old friends before
you know it.
My thanks to Walt and Barb for getting it all done and helping to
show a whole new generation what classy women's shoes should look like."
