Blood Red Shoes is an experimental short shot on 16mm film and digital video
by Merrysmith Filmworks.
The story is told from a unique street level point of view, both figuratively and literally; that of a pair of red Italian shoes. The filmmakers challenge themselves to convey an intriguing, sophisticated story without dialog, narrative or facial expression. Written by Brad Smith and filmed and directed by Kendall Merry, Blood Red Shoes is scheduled for release to the film festival circuit Fall 2006, and is about 50% complete as of May 2006.
Kendall Merry writes:
"Classic Pumps has supplied three pair of shoes for the production of Blood Red Shoes, a short film from merrysmith filmworks. As director, I had in mind a classic, sexy yet sophisticated look for the shoes, as they are an integral part of the film. Only Classic Pumps had the style and quality we needed. The service from Walt has been outstanding, with immediate, personal replies to all emailed questions and orders. Living in Alaska, long waits and hassles about shipping are everyday problems, but we had the props we neeeded for the film delivered express mail, the way we requested, in less than 48 hours."
