It began with an idea and a very uncomfortable pair of old pumps sitting in my closet. I had a love/hate relationship with the shoes simply because of the pattern....a leopard print pump with a 3" stacked wooden heel. But, they were the most uncomfortable shoe I've ever owned too!!
I knew Classic Pumps had a Custom Order program but I hadn't thought about the possibility of replacing the old pair of leopard pumps with a custom ordered pair of Lolas until I casually mentioned the shoes to Walt in an email. He asked me to send a picture of the shoes and the next thing I knew, a replacement for my old pair was on order at Classic Pumps. Just imagine, a leopard print Lola with a black patent heel. I was so excited about the possibility, but I managed to pass the time waiting for them as patiently as possible.
When they arrived I was speechless....the leopard print leather was by far richer than my original shoe ever was and the black patent heel was such a perfect choice.....put that on one of my favorite styles of CP pumps and this gal was in heaven. Speechless too!! But the best was when I put the shoes on for the first time, I couldn't have smiled any bigger if I'd tried. I couldn't help a few 'girlish' squeals as I twirled around my kitchen in complete delight!! I wore them with a cable knit black cardigan, knee length black leather skirt and silky nude hosiery to a jazz bar!! Now, this pair of Lolas has a very special name and place in my collection....these are my "jazz shoes."
