"I have followed a modestly classical style of dressing for most
of my life and have become, in recent years, somewhat less than
enthusiastic with the selection of ladies 'dress' shoes offered
by the local shoe shops close to my home. When I began looking
for that type of shoe - those classic styles immortalized by such
Hollywood Stars as Marilyn Monroe and Doris Day, icons I had
loved in days now seemingly gone forever - I was shocked at
what I found.
Clunky, chunky ugly ladies 'dress' shoes,
often with toes pointed to hideous extremes or fat stacked
heels. In my opinion these shoes are, now and always will be,
simply unattractive. Designers today simply move from one
fad to the next, ignoring the classic simplicity that designers
in the forties and fifties discovered. Designs that are feminine,
that grace the human form, and are - God forbid! - even sexy!
I longed for the classic stiletto-heeled pump, similar to
the glamorous days of 'old' Hollywood. I discovered that I
was looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack, and
did the only thing I could think of . . . I began to surf
the Internet for the elusive classic high heel pump.
Just as I was about to give up on that endeavor,
I found Classic Pumps and the shoe that I had
searched high and low for months was right in front
of me . . . Lily!
I placed my first order without
hesitation and I have never looked back . . . For that
matter, I have never given the local shoe shops more than
a curious glance on any day since. I still have that
shoe . . . a black kid Lily.
Although the thin heel can be found in a few areas today,
it still can not hold a candle to the timeless design of
the pumps offered by the wonderful folks at Classic Pumps.
If you love the glamorous look of 'yesterday' or yearn for
old fashioned romance, then you simply should give a pair
of Classic Pumps a chance. Regardless of whether you
select a 4" heel or one of the lower heel styles.
Something magical happens when you slip into a lovely pair
of pumps, walk into a room filled with the warm glow of
candlelight and see that smile on the face of your
special someone waiting for you. Timeless elegance
and grace tends to get lost in this era of bewildering
technological advances and the frantic lifestyles that
attend them . . . but that era of timeless design and
subtle sensuality is not completely gone for those of
us that still believe, or want to.
So, turn off the television, the telephone, and the pager.
Illuminate a room with that warm glow and the soft
flicker of candlelight, slip into
something that awakens your senses, and take time to re-discover
the simple passions this life still has to offer.
