Use the chart below, along with any other information you may have, to help you determine what size shoes to order. Our shoes generally run true-to-size and we suggest that you order your correct size for a dress shoe. For men's size conversion, add 1.5 or 2 to the corresponding women's size. Nikki, one of our FAVORITE customers from Spain writes: "I have tried many different size charts in different countries for shoes, and none of them have been 100% accurate. The chart from Classic Pumps is the closest I have ever seen to being correct, but there may still be some small differences depending upon which country size is being used for ordering. I am a size 39 in Germany, size 6 in UK and size 8 in USA for example, which is very close to the chart! I have seen charts listing me as a size 7.5 USA, and 5.5 UK when using a German size chart. All the Classic Pumps I own (MANY pairs) are true to the size I ordered, USA size 8, which fit me perfectly in their standard B (medium) width. I originally ordered in 7.5 and 8.5 to be sure, having had bad experiences with other suppliers, but Classic Pumps in size 8 fit perfectly. I should note that most women in Europe tend to need a B or medium width which is the only width sold by Classic Pumps. It is VERY important not to order shoes that are too large. Too big a gap between the heel of your foot and the back of the shoe is ugly, and it can also rub blisters (especially with "real nylons" which I wear), or be uncomfortable to wear. The shoe should fit like a pair of good gloves, and with the half sizes available from Classic Pumps it should be easy to get the proper and most comfortable fit." If you're not sure of your size or width, or have not been measured for several years we suggest having your foot professionally measured at a local shoe store using a Brannock Device. You might also want to read info on the Brannock Site regarding foot length vs. arch length. Your foot size changes with age, weight changes, and other factors. The shoe size you wore in high school may not be your correct size, unless of course you're still in high school...:-). Please email us or call us at (630) 385-2047 if you have any sizing questions or you even suspect your foot (or the intended recipient's foot) is on the wide side.
